A New Champion Emerges
This Thursday thing seems to be working out well when 41 people showed up and fired 26 rebuys. After a slew of add-ons, we had a prize pool of $2,610 to be split amongst our top 9 finishers. With two tables remaining and 5 players at each table, everyone was aiming to make the final table and leave with some extra spending money in their pocket. Laura Dir. (Johnson City, NY) had the misfortune of missing out on the final table, exiting on the bubble.
After the players had a redraw for final table seating, Pat Rei. (Deposit, NY) headed to the payout desk, picking up $65 for his 9th place finish. Scott Str. (Port Crane, NY) wasn’t far behind, collecting $90 for his 8th place finish. Dan Mar. (Binghamton, NY) made his first appearance at the new location, making a run to 7th place and picking up $120.
Jose Fer, (Brackney, PA) had a slow start, firing an occasional rebuy before running up a giant stack and going to the final table as the chip leader. Jose couldn’t maintain that momentum at the final table, exiting in 6th place and taking home $150. Zawadi Yeb. (Johnson City, NY) returned with a renewed focus, working her way to a 5th place finish worth $185. Mark Gra. (Vestal, NY) found his third straight top 5 finish, exiting in 4th place and earning $250.
Matt Mai. (Endwell, NY) posted a solid performance, battling to a 3rd place finish that paid him $380. Heads up play started as a battle of youth vs. experience with Sean Zaj. (Cortland, NY) and Dave May. (Rome, PA) both looking for their first outright victory at 607poker.com. Chips were traded and pots were dragged until Sean bowed out in 2nd place. Sean picked up $575 for his deep run, leaving Dave with all of the chips and the victory. Dave earned $795 for his 1st place finish. Excellent work Dave!!!
